Lampwork!
Lampworking is a type of glasswork that uses a gas fueled torch to melt rods and tubes of clear and colored glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by winding the glass around a stainless steal rod and shaping it with tools and hand movements. It is also known as flameworking or torchworking, since oil-fueled lamps are no longer used.

We have a variety of classes to assist you in your pursuit of lampwork skills. Click here to get more class information. Lampworking can be done with many types of glass, but the most common are soda-lime glass, sometimes called "soft glass," and borosilicate glass, often called "hard glass." The most common item made by lampworking is glass beads. Glassic Arts provides lampworking glass, tools and classes for Lampwork Beads. Click on the torch image below to view the gallery: |
